This workshop is aimed at school staff working directly with students in the classroom or in leadership roles with an influence on teaching and learning in their schools.

Participants will:

• Review the likely impacts of refugee experiences on learning and understand the challenges students of refugee backgrounds may be facing in the classroom
• Make links with familiar DET frameworks and resources including the HITS and other useful practices to support student learning
• Reflect on current practice and determine next steps
